Frequently asked questions
Will it clog pores or cause breakouts?
The face cream is suitable for sensitive and eczema-prone skin, but we do not make a specific non-comedogenic or anti-breakout claim.
How long does the 50ml jar last with daily use?
With daily use, or morning and night use as needed, a 50ml bottle should typically last around 6–8 weeks. Lighter once-daily use may stretch longer.
Does it contain any common allergens?
If you have known sensitivities, please check the full ingredient list on the product page before use.
Does it work well in cold dry weather?
Yes. It is clinically proven to hydrate and boosts moisture by 2x immediately after use, making it a good everyday moisturiser when skin feels dry.
Is the jar packaging hygienic or does it have a pump?
It comes with a pump dispenser for easy, everyday use.
Does it work under makeup without pilling?
It is a lightweight face cream designed to absorb well. Because pilling can depend on the rest of your routine, results may vary depending on what you layer over it.
Does it absorb quickly or leave residue?
It is designed to absorb well and leave skin feeling comfortable rather than heavy.
Will it provide enough moisture for very dry skin?
It is clinically proven to hydrate and boosts moisture by 2x immediately after use. If your skin is very dry, you may prefer to pair it with the serum or reapply as needed.
Is it suitable for rosacea or reactive skin?
It is suitable for sensitive skin, but we do not make a rosacea-specific claim.
Can it replace my night cream?
Yes, it can be used morning or night as part of your daily routine.
Does it layer well with serums?
Yes, it can be used after your serum as part of your daily routine.
What does watercress extract actually do for skin?
In this finished formula, Watercress Active® supports the product’s approved hydration and skin-kind positioning. We describe benefits at finished-product level rather than as separate ingredient-only claims.
What is Watercress Active®?
Watercress Active® is our unique watercress-extract used across the Prof&Doc range. Product benefits are described at finished-formula level, so each SKU has its own approved claims.
Do all Prof&Doc products contain Watercress Active®?
Yes. All Prof&Doc products contain Watercress Active®, but the approved benefits still vary by finished product.
Are all Prof&Doc® products suitable for sensitive skin?
Many products in the range sit within approved sensitive-skin positioning, but the exact wording varies by SKU. Please check the individual product page for the specific claim.
Can I use Prof&Doc® products together as a routine?
Yes. The range can be used as a routine. For the best experience, follow the directions for each product and build gradually if your skin is sensitive.
Are Prof&Doc® products fragranced?
The formulas contain no added chemical fragrance. Any light scent comes from the ingredients themselves.
Are Prof&Doc® products dermatologically tested?
Many products in the range are dermatologically tested and/or clinically tested, but the exact testing wording varies by SKU. Please check the individual product page for the approved claim.
Are Prof&Doc® products suitable for skin that may be prone to eczema?
Some products carry approved wording around skin that may be prone to eczema, but this is not identical across every SKU. Please check the individual product page for the exact claim.
Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Yes, this product is safe to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
What is the difference between the Face Cream and the Face Serum?
The Face Cream focuses on immediate hydration and everyday moisture. The Face Serum is the targeted step for visible fine lines and wrinkles.
Why does Prof&Doc® use watercress?
Watercress is the botanical starting point of the Prof&Doc® journey. It is one of nature’s most nutrient-dense leafy greens, and Prof&Doc uses it as the source plant from which Watercress Active® is derived. Product benefits are then described at finished-formula level, not assumed from the raw plant.
Is watercress natural?
Yes. Watercress is a leafy green botanical. Prof&Doc® starts with this natural plant source and then refines it into Watercress Active®, the proprietary extract used in the range.
What makes watercress special?
Watercress is known as one of nature’s most nutrient-dense greens, which makes it a strong botanical starting point for the brand. In Prof&Doc®, it is used as the source of Watercress Active®, not as a stand-alone skincare claim.
Is watercress the ingredient in every product?
Every Prof&Doc® product contains Watercress Active®, which is the proprietary extract derived from watercress. The approved skincare benefits still sit with the finished product formula for each SKU.
What is the difference between watercress and Watercress Active®?
Watercress is the raw plant. Watercress Active® is the refined proprietary extract derived from it. The skincare claims then sit at finished-product level, and vary by product.
Why not just say watercress is good for skin?
Because Prof&Doc® keeps the science precise. The raw plant, the extract and the finished product are treated as separate stages, so product benefits are only claimed where the finished formula has approved wording.
Does watercress itself give the skincare result?
No. In Prof&Doc®, watercress is the source plant, Watercress Active® is the extract, and the approved skincare results belong to the finished formula for each specific product.
Is Watercress Active® natural?
Watercress Active® is a proprietary botanical extract derived from watercress and used throughout the Prof&Doc® range.
Where does your watercress come from?
Prof&Doc® says its watercress is grown by trusted UK watercress farmers.
Is your watercress sustainably sourced?
Prof&Doc® says it uses excess harvest that would otherwise be discarded, helping turn surplus crop into skincare innovation.
Does natural mean less effective?
Not here. Prof&Doc®’s positioning is that nature provides the botanical source, while science supports the finished formula and its approved product claims.
What do you mean by natural skincare that performs like science?
It means the products begin with a botanical source, but the benefits are described through approved finished-formula claims rather than vague natural language.
Is Prof&Doc® more natural or more scientific?
Both. The brand starts with watercress as a botanical source and then builds finished skincare formulas with product-specific approved claims.
Why do you talk about watercress so much?
Because it is central to the brand story and ingredient journey. It is the natural starting point that leads to Watercress Active® and then to the finished formulas in the range.

EVERYTHING STARTS WITH WATERCRESS

Watercress Active®

Most people know watercress as a salad leaf. It's also one of the most studied plants in nature - one of only a few plants to score a perfect 100% on the CDC's nutrient index.

We spent over a decade asking what it could do for skin. The answer is Watercress Active®: an aqueous botanical extract, refined through a patented process in our own biorefinery in Exeter, and created by a team led by an NHS doctor and a University Professor.

It's the reason every Prof&Doc® product exists - clinically proven, designed for skin, and made with Watercress Active® at 10% across the range, and 93% in our Reviving Watercress Face Serum.

Where nature meets science.
